10 sure signs of a pet allergy

Pet allergies are a recurring menace and there are several types that you need to watch out for. Food and Environment related allergies are the most common types that occur seasonally. Environment related allergies are observed during summer and spring while perennial allergies and symptoms are usually due to food. There are several symptoms that you need to be careful of. These include the following:

  • Skin irritation and inflammation which is otherwise known as allergic dermatitis
  • Excessive scratching, chewing and biting body parts
  • Excessive rubbing against furniture or carpet
  • Skin sores, scabs and hair loss
  • Development of inflamed hot spots and red skin
  • Inflamed and itchy ears which involves rapid scratching and shaking of heads. Additionally, foul odors and discharges from the ears are other symptoms to be careful of in this regard
  • Watery eyes, sneezing and coughing are indicative of respiratory allergies
  • Sensitivity to grass, trees, pollen and molds
  • Puffy eyes and redness, redness in the chin or paws and so on
