Description:
Backpain can be divided into two basic categories—acute and chronic. Acute pain comes on quickly, either immediately or over a period of several hours. On the other hand, chronic backpain attacks the body slowly and remains for a very long time, sometimes lasting for months or even years. More often than not, acute and chronic backpain are interrelated, with acute backpain leading to chronic backpain.

There are several causes of lower backpain. Muscle strain and muscle sprains are the most common cause of lower backpain. Leg length discrepancy (a condition in which people have unequal lower limbs) is also a cause of backpain, which is caused by a pelvic twist. Lower backpain can also be caused by stress, both mental and physical. Gallstones, kidney stones, infections, uterine fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts and menstruation can all result in severe lower backpain.

Symptoms:
Lower backpain that may also radiate to the hips and legs.
